Sound Familiar?
- Everyone nodded. Nothing got done.
- You agreed. Then resented it.
- Signals surfaced. Nobody spoke up.
- You're clear. Nobody buys in.
- Working hard. Income still lags.
These Aren't People Problems.
They're TQ Problems.
And TQ Problems Have Solutions.
With High TQ
- The nods turn into named results.
- Your yes is real. Your no keeps the relationship.
- Signals get called out. Problems get prevented.
- The vision lands. They own it with you.
- You name your worth. And stop taking less.
Your expertise is real. So why the gap?
Every human exchange includes a hidden layer most professionals never learn to see—or navigate. Transactional Intelligence (TQ) makes that layer visible.
Seeing the exchange takes a different intelligence. IQ measures cognitive capacity. EQ is how you read and manage emotions. TQ is skillfully navigating exchanges with others. Named, mapped, and learnable.
And transactional? It's every deal, every promise, every partnership — everything people accomplish together. Without that ability, exchanges go cold, calculating, self-serving. That's Low TQ.
This book names what runs beneath your most persistent challenges — and hands you the map. That's High TQ.
Once you see the hidden layer, you'll never negotiate, lead, sell, coach, or collaborate the same way again.
Book One of The TQ Series.
Skillfully navigating exchanges with others.
HIGH TQ is the flagship title — the complete case for why Transactional Intelligence® matters and how it works. It is the foundation from which every title in The TQ Series builds.
The TQ Series applies Transactional Intelligence® to the specific challenges that derail careers, teams, and organizations. This is where it begins.

The Foundation Work
The scholarly record of the tradition TQ is built on.
Before Transactional Intelligence became a practitioner methodology, its philosophical roots required a serious academic treatment. Trevor J. Phillips — a philosopher of education with a thirty-three year tenure at Bowling Green State University — produced that treatment as his 1966 dissertation, Transactionalism: An Historical and Interpretive Study, tracing the transactional tradition from Polybius and Galileo through Newton, the emergence of pragmatism, and Dewey and Bentley.
Foreword by Kirkland Tibbels. Edited by Kirkland Tibbels and John Patterson. Published by Influence Ecology, LLC — the organization behind Influential U. It is the scholarly foundation beneath The TQ Series, and a separate book from the series itself.
